Lesson Plans for Division

Introduction to Lesson Plans for Division:
A division method can be done by the division symbol ÷.  The number present in the left of the division symbol is dividend and the number present in the right of the division symbol is divisor. The answer you get from the division process is called quotient. The number after dividing process over the remaining number left below the division line is called as remainder. Let us see about lesson plans for division in this article.

Example Problems to Lesson Plans for Division

Lesson Plans for Single Digit Division:
Example 1:
Solve the 2 digit division numbers.
9 ÷ 3
Solution:
Step 1:
Let us write the given problems as 9/3.
The number 9 is the multiple of 3 and 3.
Therefore, the quotient for dividing 9 by 3 is 3.
Lesson Plans for 2 Digit Divisions:
Example 2:
Solve the 2 digit division numbers.
84 ÷ 4
Solution:
Step 1:
Let us write the given problems as 84/4.
In this problem, the numerator is 84 otherwise called as dividend and denominator is 4 otherwise called as divisor.
Step 2:
Write the given problem in the division bracket.
4)84(
Step 3:
Guess the example that denominator has how many parts equal to numerator.
Check the maximum number of times the number 4 goes into 8 by multiplying the terms of 4 with 1, 2 and etc. But in this case, 4 can go into 8 for 2 times.
Step 4:
Put the product below the dividend by multiplying 4 * 2 = 8 and subtract the product from the dividend.
4)84(2
    8
------------
       0
-------------
Then go for next digit remaining in the dividend.
4)84(21
    8
------------
    04
    04
------------
     0
------------
Therefore, the quotient for the given problem is 21.
Lesson Plans for 3 Digit Divisions:
Example 3:
Solve the 2 digit division tutorial numbers.
252 ÷ 9
Solution:
Step 1:
Let us write the given problems as 252/9
In this problem, the numerator is 252 otherwise called as dividend and denominator is 9 otherwise called as divisor.
Step 2:
Write the given problem in the division bracket.
9)252(
Step 3:
Guess the example that denominator has how many parts equal to numerator.
Check the maximum number of times the number 9 cannot go into 2.
So that goes for taking two digits as a dividend.
Here, the number 9 goes into 25 for 2 times. And subtract the numbers from the dividend.
9)252(2
    18
-------------
      72
-------------
Step 4:
Put the product below the dividend by multiplying 9 * 8 = 72 and then subtract the product from the dividend.
9)252(28
   18
------------
    72
   72
------------
    0
------------
Therefore, the quotient for the given problem is 28.
